Terms of Service

Last updated: October 26, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and [Company legal name] (“Hint”, “we”, “us”) for the competitive intelligence service at runhint.com. By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the service, you agree to them. If you are using Hint for an organization, you confirm that you can bind that organization.

The service

Hint writes briefs, battlecards, and related views about competitors. Coverage can be incomplete or wrong. Hint is not legal, financial, or professional advice, and it is not a promise about what a competitor will do.

Accounts

You will give accurate account information and keep your login to yourself. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using it.

Acceptable use

You will not:

  • break the law, or help someone else break it, with the service;
  • probe, scan, or breach the service or another customer’s workspace;
  • overload the service, or resell access, without written permission;
  • upload malware, or use the service to send spam;
  • misrepresent Hint output as verified fact when you know a source is missing.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we will tell you why.

Your content

You keep what you submit: company details, competitor lists, and notes. You give us permission to host and process that material only to run the service for you. We do not claim ownership of it. You are responsible for having the right to submit it.

Plans and payment

A free plan is available within the limits shown on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed in advance. You authorize the charges for the plan you choose. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. We can change prices or plan limits going forward; if you have a paid subscription, we will tell you before the change applies to the next renewal. You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.

Our intellectual property

The service, the software, and the Hint name and logo belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you those rights. You may use the product output inside your organization for your own competitive work. You may not copy the service itself or present our brand as yours.

Privacy

Our privacy policy describes how we handle personal information. It is part of how the product works, and these terms do not override it.

Availability

The service is provided as available. We do not guarantee uptime, that a given competitor will be covered, or that a brief will be complete. Features can change. We can discontinue the service; if we do, we will give paid customers a reasonable notice where practical.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, and without any warranty that output is accurate or current.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, [Company legal name] and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for loss of data or goodwill. Our total liability for a claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, including liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Ending these terms

You can stop using Hint at any time. We can suspend or end access if you break these terms, if we are required to, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that should survive by their nature (including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, and governing law) survive.

Changes

We can update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. If a change is material, we will post the new terms on this page before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the update. If you do not agree, stop using the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by [Governing law], excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that place have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either party may seek injunctive relief for misuse of intellectual property. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
